Day 3

imnotdieting Its Day 3 of the 21 Day Daniel Fast and how’s it going??? Are the cravings starting yet?  If so don’t get discouraged, this is all a natural part of the process.  Your body is screaming for all those unhealthy foods, you know the large fries, mocha late, chocolates etc,  it’s used to getting.  It’s only a matter of time and the screams will get quieter and your body will give up and accept that You Have Made A Lifestyle Change!!!


Cleansing Your Body is the first step to creating lasting change.  There’s a big difference between fasting and dieting, also the effects on the body are quite different.  Dieting will usually produce a faster amount of weight loss in a shorter period of time but, believe me when I say there’s a price to pay and it’s usually in weight gain that doesn’t stop until you start another diet.  Fasting on the other hand when done properly gives your digestive system a rest. If your digestion is poor, this can effect your bodies ability to break down food and burn fat. Intermittent fasts can regulate your digestion improving your ability to burn calories and fat.
Let’s start with water. lemon waterOne of the best ways to start the cleansing process is good old fashioned you guessed it WATER.  50-70% of your body is composed of water so it stands to reason that the more you drink the better you’ll feel.  The recommended amount is approx. 10-12, 8 ounce glasses per day starting with 2 glasses upon waking.  This takes some getting used to and frequent trips to the restroom but you will start to see a difference in your skin and hair and feel the difference in your body.  If you are an avid tea drinker like myself you will be happy to learn that herbal teas such as peppermint, lemon balm or chamomile can be substituted for water and is a wonderful way to purify your system.
