It’s Friday the 13th Day of Your Daniel Fast and Your One step closer to Your goal than You were yesterday!!! Day 12 was all about why You should exercise. Today is No more Fear, No More Procrastination NO MORE EXCUSES!!! A friend of mine, Aronlee Gould, was saying to me just yesterday that even after you think you’ve made it past your fear there is a sneaky brother to fear called Procrastination constantly saying I’ll do it tomorrow and then tomorrow never comes. Well, that was the old you yesterday and this is Today and I’m going to give you several No Excuse Workouts that you can do from the comfort of your own home.
The 7 Minute Workout. This is a HIIT Routine(high intensity interval training)that involves a series of 12 body weight exercises that require only a chair and a wall, performed at about 9 on an intensity scale of 1 to 10. Each move squats, push ups, etc. is performed for 30 seconds with 10 seconds of rest in between. If you do this workout even once through at full intensity you will find it quite challenging. I know because I’ve done it several times. It’s great for when you don’t have time to get in a longer workout or if your new to exercise and you can do it more than once a day. It’s also very convenient as it can be done at home absolutely free just a download to any smartphone with a simple app, not to mention several Youtube versions. Do it once or several times a day. You will see results. NO EXCUSES!!!
Dance Workouts such as, Zionics, Zumba, Jazzercise, Hip hop, etc are great for those of you who love to dance or want to to learn and get your work out on at the same time. You can go to the gym for this which a lot of people like to do or you can do them at home Free as there are several videos available on Youtube. There are many advantages of Dance as a form of exercise. You get a great High Intensity Workout. You learn to move gracefully, while improving your flexibility and coordination. It also may boost your memory and prevent you from developing dementia as you get older. NO EXCUSES!!!
Yoga. I know a little controversial not to mention extremely challenging, but also super beneficial as it works out your Spirit, Soul and Body all at once. My sister and I and even my boys have been doing Ashtanga Yoga off and on for awhile now and even though we haven’t been as consistent as we should, we have still seen many benefits. Most importantly and at the heart of Yoga is the control of your breath. Breathing is the at the center, “The mind is more difficult to control than the wind but if we are able to control our breath we may control our mind.” Yoga is built upon this simple concept. When controlling the breath the yoga practitioner feels a deep state of calm and an evenness of the mind. This is due to the regulated focus upon the breath during practice. Here are a few helpful words and the primary series from David Swenson who is recognized today as one of the world’s foremost practitioners and instructors of Ashtanga Yoga. Listen to what he is saying and don’t be afraid to try new things. NO EXCUSES!!!
Choose anyone of the exercises listed above and Get Moving!!! There is always going to be reasons why you CAN’T!!! I say, dump them and come up with reasons for why You MUST!!! NO MORE EXCUSES KEEP GOING!!! Be Well.
