Day 15 of Your Daniel Fast finds you at a brand new week and the last leg of your journey!!!  If you’ve been doing great up till now Good For You.  If not, you have one more week to Get Going!!! If you feel a little lost or disappointed with your progress, let’s take a look at what’s been going on over the past two weeks of Your Daniel Fast. Today hit your restart button. Go back to the beginningrestart and ask yourself why you started this fast in the first place. Have you been sticking to the more vegan diet, veggies, fruits, whole grains and lots and lots of water???  Have you been getting in at least one form of exercise a day???  Are you halfway through a favorite book or, making any progress with that new project you started???  You have to make some effort in order to see results.

Let’s go back to basics.  Water wateris a vital nutrient, one that our body can’t live without.  The human body can last weeks without food, but only days without water. The body is made up of 50 to 75 per cent water. Water forms the basis of blood, digestive juices, urine and perspiration, and is contained in lean muscle, fat and bones.
Because the body can’t store water, we need fresh supplies every day.  The amount we need depends on our body size, metabolism, the weather, the food we eat and our activity levels, but generally speaking it’s approximately  10-12 glasses per day.  Not drinking enough water can lower your physical and mental performance and lead to dehydration.  As I said before first thing in the morning is the easiest time to get in your first 2 glasses of water for the day.  After that maybe a cup of herbal tea with lemon(can be substituted for water once it’s pure)and your well on your way.

Next we have food consumption.  How much should you be eating and what kinds of food does your body need to keep you going???  The amount of calories you take in is dependent upon what stage of life you’re in.

  • Maintaining weight — Your weight will stay the same when the calories you eat and drink equal the calories you burn.
  • Losing weight — You will lose weight when the calories you eat and drink are less than the calories you burn.
  • Gaining weight — You will gain weight when the calories you eat and drink are greater than the calories you burn.

A lot of us are in the second category, needing to consume less calories and burn more. The fastest way I know is Fruits, Vegetables, Whole Grains and Healthy Fats, along with Exercise.  heathy eating exerciseSorry, there is no magical equation, potion or diet that will give you what your looking for .  Just a commitment to making a Life Style Change and a lot of hard work that will pay off in the end.  KEEP GOING!!!
