Let’s start with LAVENDER!!! I can’t sing its’ praises enough. It is the cure for whatever ails you. Just the scent and beautiful purple color, has a very calming and soothing effect on the spirit, soul, and body. The flowers and the oil from the flowers are used for restlessness, insomnia and nervousness. The oil will reduce your blood pressure, promote calmness in you and give you a much-needed sleep. One of the best ways to use lavender besides the oil, and the tea is to make a lavender pillow. What a heavenly way to fall asleep.
Chamomile tea is one of the most recognized and commonly used teas in the world. People use this plant to get relief from stress, giving you a relaxed feel. It also gives relief from apprehension developed in the mind. The plant contains an agent which works as a drug that is non-addictive, mild, alleviates your worries and helps you fall asleep. To prepare the tea, place the dry flowers in boiling water for about ten minutes and strain. Add a little drop of honey sip before going to bed.
Linden Flowers is one I’ve used for years in combination with Chamomile for a restful sleep. It combats anxiety and promotes rest because of it’s sedative effects. Again steep add a little honey and sip before bed and anytime you feel anxious or stressed.
Sleepy Time Tea
Combine the following…
1 tbsp. Chamomile Flowers
1/2 tbsp. Lemon Balm
1 tsp. Skullcap or Linden Flowers
1 tsp. Lavender
Steep in 16 ounces (regular mug size) of boiled water for 8 minutes.
Strain, Sweeten with honey & Sip
