6 Week Boot Camp Week 5- Day 7 Active Rest Dayrest

Today is the your rest day, but it doesn’t mean it has to be spent sitting on the couch watching television lol. Instead, an active rest day is meant to be a light or easy day where you’re still moving, but not at the intensity you normally move. An active rest day can involve:

1. Going for a hike
2. Swimming which really helps with soreness
3. Biking
4. Doing some yoga
5. Jogging
6. Running around with your dog/kids
7. Playing a sport but for fun make sure you keep it light
8. Going for a walk outdoors
9. Dancing

One of the biggest problems related to active recovery is that people assume that more exercise will allow them to lose more fat. Whether you choose to use active recovery workouts or take full days off, understand that as long as you are on a sensible training program, your eating habits will make a much bigger difference in how you look then a couple extra exercise sessions.

Don’t sell yourself short and over train on days that you should be using active recovery/resting, doing so is a quick way to burn out and ultimately lose steam towards your goals. Taking an active rest day will hasten your recovery, making you feel stronger and faster and ready to face your final week of our Don’t Stop Keep Going 6 Week Boot Camp!!! Have Fun, Do More, Try Harder!!!
